AL-RAYA STRESSES IMPORTANCE OF DEVELOPING COMMON STRATEGIES BETWEEN US AND GCC COUNTRIES

Doha - Qatari daily Al-Raya newspaper stressed the urgent need to develop common and long-term strategies and perceptions of how to enhance cooperation between the United States of America, GCC countries and the Arab and Islamic countries and the need to start or develop a more positive relationship not between governments only, but between peoples as well.

In a statement by its editor, the newspaper said that the Riyadh summits to be held Sunday will bring the views of the GCC countries on some regional issues and files, because these relations are based on common interests above all, and because there are common denominators between the Gulf and US parties in terms of orientations and challenges to be addressed.

The newspaper pointed out that the challenges of the Gulf, Arab, Islamic and American are similar, and everyone wants a quick end to the war in Syria and Iraq through political solutions.

The paper added that what is required from the United States, headed by US President Trump, is to support the coalition in Yemen against threats and risks of the Houthis and supporters of ousted President Saleh and their supporters to the countries of the region, particularly Saudi Arabia, as well as an aspiration to a strong US support for the Islamic alliance against terrorism.

Al-Raya also expressed the desire of Arabs and Muslims to relaunch the Palestinian-Israeli peace negotiations on new bases, taking into account the two-state solution.

It pointed out that one of the most prominent files facing all Arabs, Muslims and Americans, is the file of terrorism in the region or in the world, because this abhorrent phenomenon has no borders, color, religion or nationality, and its dangers are suffered by all the countries gathered in Riyadh now.

The Qatari daily affirmed that the State of Qatar will remain under the leadership of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thaniin a supporter of all joint Gulf, Arab and Islamic action, adding that the state has made all these a priority of its foreign policy.

The state of Qatar, the paper said, has been well-respected at all levels and heights, stressing that Qatar is also an authentic partner in all regional and international initiatives and efforts aimed at combating terrorism in all its forms and is always seeking to create a climate of peace, security and stability in the world.

The newspaper stressed its desire to seriously penetrate the known crises of the region and work together to put an end to it as soon as possible, saying that this will only happen if the United States shows courage, hoping that these official meetings could be extended to dialogues between peoples, organizations and civil societies to establish positive relations based on love and communication, taking into account the privacy of each party, in order to serve the issues of peace and stability in the Middle East and the world.

In conclusion, the newspaper expressed its thanks and appreciation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which initiated and arranged for these summits and meetings, confirming their ability to assume the moral responsibility of the Gulf, Islamic and Arab countries.
