28th Qatar Armed Forces Holy Quran Memorization Competition Commences

Doha: The 28th edition of the Qatar Armed Forces Holy Quran Memorization Competition has commenced, under the patronage of HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs, Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al-Thani and HE Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, Ghanem bin Shaheen Al Ghanim. Running until February 20, the competition will feature 430 participants from the Qatar Armed Forces.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Qatar Armed Forces Holy Quran Memorization Competition is one of the branches of the Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani Noble Quran Competition, receiving the full financial, technical, and judging support of the Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs. The competition is supervised by four specialized judging committees, consisting of members from the Ministry, the National Service Academy, and Qatar Armed Forces Quran memorization centers.

Moreover, the competition was established nearly three decades ago with the aim of connecting Qatar Armed Forces members with the Holy Quran, through its recitation, memorization, and reflection upon its wisdom, facilitated by the Quran memorization centers present at all military camps.
