3 Killed, 1 Missing in Flash Floods in Southern China

Doha: Three people were killed and one remains missing after flash floods triggered by torrential rains hit Yancha Township in Longlin County, southern China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

According to Qatar News Agency, a temporary shelter housing four people on a hillside was swept away by floodwaters, leaving all those inside missing.

Local authorities quickly launched search and rescue operations, which resulted in the discovery of three of the victims in a mountain stream, where they were confirmed dead. Efforts are ongoing to locate the fourth person.

China has experienced a series of disasters linked to torrential rains in recent months.
