An earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale of nine degrees struck southwest of Indonesian Sumatra on Thursday. The German Research Center for Geosciences "GFZ" reported that the epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 10 kilometers at a latitude of 5.21 degrees south and a longitude of 101.03 degrees east. There were no immediate reports of human or material losses as a result of the earthquake.
