A workshop on the general principles of partnership between the government sector and civil society

Ramallah Together - Civil society unions and networks carried out a discussion workshop at the invitation of the General Union of Palestinian NGOs and the Palestinian Civil Action Coordination Council. A discussion workshop entitled General Principles for Partnership between the Government Sector and Civil Society in the hall of the City Inn Palace Hotel in Ramallah, with the participation of the General Union of NGOs. The Palestinian NGO Network, the National Authority for NGOs, the National Union of NGOs, the Union of Palestinian Youth NGOs, the Palestinian Federation of the Deaf, the Union of Charitable Societies for the Jerusalem Governorate, the Union of Charitable Societies for the Hebron Governorate, the Watan Union for Palestinian NGOs in the Gaza Strip, and the Union of Youth Centers. Social organizations in refugee camps, the Union of Cultural Associations and Centers, the Union of Charitable Societies in the Northern Governorates, the Palestinian General Union of Charitable Societies, and the Union of Women's Centers in Refugee Camps. The discussion workshop was opened by Dr. Bassem Al-Tamimi, President of the General Union of Civil Society Organizations, where he stressed the importance of the meeting, which included representatives of the majority of Palestinian civil society unions and networks, and the importance of the goal it seeks, which is to reach a document agreed upon between representatives of civil society institutions that includes the general principles of partnership between Government sector and civil society. The participants stressed the need to work to strengthen the partnership between civil society and the government sector according to principles that guarantee the independence of civil society and work to support the steadfastness of our Palestinian people and their pursuit of independence from the occupation and the establishment of their independent Palestinian state with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital, led by the Palestine Liberation Organization, the sole legitimate repre sentative of the Palestinian people. The attendees decided to form a committee that would work on drafting a document on the general principles of partnership by communicating with components of Palestinian civil society and agreeing on its contents. It should be noted that this meeting comes within a series of meetings aimed at developing visions on issues related to the work of civil society in Palestine, which contributes to enhancing the development of resilience and developing partnership relations with all sectors and at all levels.
