The Advisory Council approved yesterday a draft law on amending some provisions of Law No.8 of 2008 on Consumer Protection, and the Council decided to submit its recommendations on to the government.
Mohammed Bin Abdullah Al-Sulaiti, Deputy Speaker of the Advisory Council, said that the draft law on amending some provisions on consumer protection is one of the most important draft laws. He affirmed that the liability of consumer protection is one of the main competencies of any State, being the sole entity with the required executive authority to protect consumers against commercial fraud, exploitation or misappropriation of services.
The draft law includes amendments on three articles, two are procedural, whereas the third is related to sanctions.
