Doha: Spanish coach Felix Sanchez of Al Sadd confirmed the team's readiness for tomorrow's match against Al Ahli Saudi, which will be hosted at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium as part of the seventh round of the AFC Champions League Elite group stage.
According to Qatar News Agency, Sanchez added in a statement during the pre-match press conference that they are back to playing in Asia after their last match in November and that they must maintain their successful run in the group stage, especially since they have officially secured qualification to the Round of 16.
He continued by stating that they are facing an important match and aim to give their best to achieve a positive result against an opponent that has strengthened its squad during the winter transfer window.
For his part, Al Sadd's Guilherme Torres said that the match against Al Ahli will be very tough and important for them because it is at home and in front of their fans. They will give everything they have to win and get the three points.
Torres pointed out that Al Ahli Saudi has high-quality players, but they also have top players and confidence in their team and will do everything possible to achieve victory.
In the West Zone standings, Al Hilal Saudi leads with 16 points from six matches, ahead of Al Ahli Saudi on goal difference. Al Nassr FC follows with 13 points, Al Sadd with 12, Al Wasl UAE with 11, Persepolis Iran with 6, and both Al Rayyan and Esteghlal Iran with 5. Pakhtakor Uzbekistan and Al Gharafa both have 4 points, and both Al Ain UAE and Al Shorta Iraq have 2 points.
Al Hilal, Al Ahli, Al Nassr, Al Sadd, and Al Wasl have secured their places in the Round of 16. The top eight teams from the Western Zone group stage will qualify for the Round of 16.
