Al Azhar Grand Imam commends HM King’s efforts in promoting peaceful coexistence

Cairo, His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al Tayeb, the Grand Imam Sheikh of Al Azhar and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, received Adel Abdulrahman Al Asoomi, the Arab Parliament Speaker, at Al Azhar. His Eminence Shaikh Al Tayeb commended His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's efforts in promoting peaceful coexistence and tolerance. He hailed the "Bahrain Dialogue Forum: East and West for Human Coexistence" for its regional and global initiatives, emphasising the need to build upon historical outcomes and promote values among different cultures and religions. He also praised the efforts of King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence to promote these values through initiatives and programmes on both regional and global levels. The Grand Imam expressed hope that the upcoming Arab Summit to be hosted in Bahrain would contribute to finding effective solutions for challenges faced by the Arab world, citing His Majesty the King's regional and international status as a key factor in its success. Al Asoo mi commended the role of Al Azhar, led by His Eminence the Grand Imam, in advocating for Arab and Islamic issues, and its moderate approach in spreading tolerance, peace, and peaceful coexistence globally. On his part, Al Tayeb praised the Arab Parliament's advocacy of Arab issues and expressed Al Azhar's willingness to collaborate with it in all matters involving Arab and Islamic nations.
