New York, Syria's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Qusay Al-Dahhak, said that Syria is committed to providing facilities to partners in the humanitarian and development work as it renewed license to the UN to use Bab al-Hawa crossing for six extra months, in a move to deliver aid to needy civilians in the northwest parts of Syria. The Ambassador added in UN Security Council session that Syria is continuing its efforts to facilitate the return of the displaced persons and refugees as hundreds of them have done over the past few days from Lebanon in amid comfortable atmosphere, and this proves once again the falsity of Western propaganda in this domain and its distance from credibility. 'The fruits of the standing cooperation between Syria and the United Nations are stillbelow the required level in light of the West's hostile stances and violations of the international law and the provisions of the Charter through its illegal military presence and support for militias and terrorist o rganizations and the plunder of national resources,' al-Dahhak said. He added that that ESCWA committee's last report on the coercive measures imposed on Syria is an additional step that uncovers the disastrous effects of these measures and refutes allegations promoted by those who imposed the blockade. The Syrian diplomat affirmed that Syria calls for the immediate and complete lifting of coercive measures and providing sustainable and predictable funding to enable the United Nations implement the humanitarian response plan whose funds did not exceed 20 percent.
