The head of the National Wisdom Movement, Ammar al-Hakim, praised the efforts of the Iraqi government in negotiating the end of the missions of the international coalition against the terrorist ISIS. The movement stated in a statement: "Al-Hakim met in his office with the US Ambassador to Baghdad, Alina Romanowski, and during the meeting, developments in the political scene in Iraq and the region, and bilateral relations between Baghdad and Washington were discussed." Al-Hakim praised the efforts of the Iraqi government in negotiating the end of the missions of the international coalition against ISIS, stressing the importance of moving to inter-relations between Iraq and some of the coalition countries in a way that guarantees Iraq's interests, stability, and preservation of its sovereignty. He stressed the importance of strengthening democratic values in society, and preserving citizens' rights to expression and belief, indicating at the same time that rights are constitutional and legal constants that c annot be bypassed. Al-Hakim called for stopping the war in Gaza, and said: "Those who wish to reduce escalation in the region must intensify pressure on the Israeli entity to stop the unjust war in Gaza, as it is one of the most important causes of escalation." Al-Hakim warned of the widening circle of the conflict and Israel's continued violation of international laws and the systematic and daily killing of children, women and defenseless people. He stressed the importance of empowering segments of society, emphasizing that justice for women is justice for society in general, as they are its first nucleus, its numerical half and the educator of its other half.
