Al-Sudani receives Palestinian poet Tamim Al-Barghouthi and affirms Iraq’s principled and firm position towards the Palestinian cause

Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani received the Palestinian poet Tamim Al-Barghouthi. The Prime Minister's media office said in a statement, "Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani received today, Thursday, the Palestinian poet Tamim Al-Barghouthi, who is visiting Iraq as a guest of honor at the Baghdad International Book Fair. Al-Sudani praised the Palestinian poet and his great role in supporting the cause of his country, Palestine, and introducing the world to the rights of the Palestinian people to live with dignity within a free and independent Palestinian state on its historical soil. Al-Sudani referred to Iraq's principled and steadfast position towards the Palestinian cause, the absolute support for Palestine, and the continuous condemnation of the occupation forces that commit daily crimes of genocide against the sons of the Palestinian people in Gaza, as part of its broad criminal policy through which it aims to expand the conflict and destabilize the region, stressing that any solution or n ew vision must start from the minimum level of Palestinian consensus. For his part, Palestinian poet Tamim Al-Barghouti expressed his thanks to Iraq, its government and people, for the honorable positions it adopted in supporting Gaza and the Palestinian people, and its absolute and steadfast support for the Palestinian cause, praising Iraq's role in the region, and the sacrifices it has made that enhance its position and perpetuate stability and prosperity.
