Al-Sudani stresses the responsibility of the federal government and local governments in the governorates in providing service to the millions of visitors

The Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammad Shiaa al-Sudani, affirmed the responsibility of the federal government, local governments in the governorates, and all security and civil agencies to provide service, security and logistical requirements for the millions of visitors, from inside and outside Iraq.

Al-Sudani indicated, during a meeting held today, Thursday, via closed-circuit television at the headquarters of the Joint Operations Command, with the governors of Basra, Wasit, Babylon, Najaf and Karbala, and the operations and police commanders in many provinces, in the presence of the Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, and with the participation of the Minister of Interior who heads the Supreme Security Committee for the Arbaeen visit, who is in Karbala, and the head of the transportation committee, the mayor of Samarra and the leader of the Popular Mobilization Axis, to see the progress of the implementation of the security and service plans prepared to secure the Arbaeen visit in the holy city of Karbala to continue holding meetings throughout the coming days via closed-circuit television, in addition to holding a meeting after the end of the visit in order to evaluate the work done and what is required in the future.

Al-Sudani was briefed, according to the statement, on the measures taken to secure the roads for visitors heading on foot from all parts of Iraq towards the city of Karbala, and the facilities provided at the border crossings, and everything that would help provide a safe atmosphere for the visitors and the Husseini processions that are spread along the path, in addition to being briefed on service plans in the joints of municipal, health, transportation and other services.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces followed up, through monitoring screens, the deployment of security forces of all kinds in the areas of responsibility, finding out their needs, as well as seeing the facilities provided to visitors coming from outside Iraq.

He praised the security services for the exceptional effort they are making in order to secure the millionth visit and its smoothness, and he also highly valued the efforts of workers in service departments, whether in ministries or governorates.

He also praised the level of cooperation shown by citizens and Husseini processions, and adherence to instructions and procedures to ensure the success of the Arbaeen ceremonies.

He explained that the services provided to visitors are the result of efforts made by the concerned authorities and the governorates that implemented important projects that established these services, referring to the entrances to Karbala Governorate and the rest of the other service projects, which facilitated the visit process and came as a result of thoughtful planning, the opening of new important roads, and bridges will be opened in the future.
