An accused who stole 14 million dinars with gold trinkets arrested in Baghdad

The Ministry of Interior announced today, Friday, the arrest of an accused for stealing 14 million dinars with gold trinkets in Baghdad. A statement by the Ministry stated that "the detachments of the Baghdad Crime Control Directorate/New Baghdad Office for Combating Crime were able to arrest an accused for stealing an amount of (14) million dinars with gold trinkets, from inside a house in the New Baghdad area." The statement added that "the arrest operation took place after the detachments of the directorate received information that one of the residential houses within the responsibility sector had been robbed, and after investigating and collecting information, the accused was reached and arrested," noting that "the investigation papers were presented to the investigating judge, who decided to detain him in accordance with the provisions of Article 446 of the Penal Code." The statement continued, "The Directorate's detachments executed arrest warrants against a number of defendants for stealing motorc ycles, others for forgery, and others wanted in various criminal cases.
