Doha, September 14 (QNA) – The Arab Union for Voluntary Work will be celebrating Arab Volunteer Day tomorrow, Sunday, which falls on the 15th of September every year.
In this context, President of the Arab Union for Voluntary Work Dr. Yusuf Ali Al Kazim said in a special statement to the Qatar News Agency (QNA) that this year’s Arab Volunteer Day will be hosted by Cairo from the Sep. 14 to 17. The event will see the participation of 16 Arab countries, honoring influential and media personalities, and signing international and local agreements.
He explained that during the activities of the Arab Union for Voluntary Work conference, which will kick off today in Cairo, field research papers on voluntary work will be discussed, and leading volunteer figures will be honored. Additionally, international and Arab agreements will be signed, and various visits will be conducted to explore volunteer experiences in Egypt. There will also be a symposium for media professionals to discuss their role in spreading the cul
ture of volunteer work in the Arab world and highlighting the role of volunteering at the continental and international levels.
The President of the Arab Union for Voluntary Work emphasized that the union, which was founded 21 years ago through a purely Qatari initiative and includes 19 countries, has achieved significant volunteer accomplishments, particularly in addressing the COVID-19 pandemic through numerous large-scale activities that demonstrated a deep-rooted belief in volunteer work and its objectives.
