Asian Games opening ceremony to begin on Saturday

JAKARTA, Indonesia, The Opening Ceremony of the prestigious 18th Asian Games 2018 will start in Jakarta, Indonesia on Saturday.

HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, the President of Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) , HE Sheikh Saud bin Ali Al Thani , the QOC First Vice President and Dr. Thani bin Abdurrahman Al Kawari, the QOC Second Vice President and HE Jassim bin Rashid Al Boeinen , the QOC Secretary General alongside Qatar's administrative and sport delegation members shall attend the opening ceremony.

Qatar's flag bearer in the opening ceremony will be squash star Abdullah Al Tamimi. Around 221 Qatari athletes, including 192 male and 29 female will compete in 30 sport events.

The Asian Games are being co-hosted in two cities in Jakarta and Palembang and will be concluded on 2nd of the next month.

Players from forty-five countries will participate in different events including hockey, football, wrestling, swimming, athletics, tennis, table tennis, shooting, taekwondo, golf, handball and others.
