Baghdad Operations Command forces carried out preemptive operations around the capital Baghdad, and arrested a number of suspects according to various legal articles. A statement by the Command stated that in conjunction with the approaching anniversary of the Arbaeen pilgrimage and with the aim of enhancing security and stability and preserving the security achievement achieved in various areas of responsibility, the formations of the infantry divisions (6th and 17th) and the units attached to them, in coordination with the intelligence and security department of the command, carried out preemptive operations to search and inspect the regions, armed reconnaissance and set up temporary surprise checkpoints in the areas of (Tarmia, Mahmoudia) and the surrounding villages, countryside and orchards adjacent to the roads of visitors, which resulted in the arrest of a number of accused according to various legal articles, and the accused were handed over to the competent authorities to complete the legal procedur es against them.
