Bahrain announced the completion of its preparations to host the 33rd Ordinary Arab Summit, next Thursday. The Bahraini News Agency said: The Kingdom has completed its preparations to host the summit-level meeting of the Arab League Council in its thirty-third regular session, which will be held next Thursday. It added that the 'Preparation Committee, headed by Interior Minister Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, intensified the pace of preparation and organization, through continuous meetings and field follow-up around the clock.' It pointed out that the most prominent issues presented at the Arab summit is the ongoing Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, since the seventh of last October, with its regional and international repercussions, since Israel did not respond to many calls made by leaders of countries to end the war, which left more than 113 thousand killed and wounded people, most of them children and women, and about 10 thousand were missing amid massive destruction and famine that claimed the lives of children and the elderly. Israel continues the war despite the issuance of a resolution by the UN Security Council to stop the fighting immediately, and also despite the International Court of Justice demanding immediate measures to prevent acts of genocide and improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza. Moreover, 'the major streets, main roads and landmarks of Bahrain were decorated with flags of Arab countries and pictures of leaders, in a scene that reflects Arab unity and solidarity / according to what was reported by the Bahraini News Agency /.' In a related context, the summit's media center has completed its preparations to facilitate the work of media professionals, by providing them with all necessary logistical and technical services and enriching the content of their media coverage in a manner commensurate with the importance of the event and the broad media presence. Bahrain's hosting of the Arab Summit enjoys wide Arab appreciation, given the approach the Kingdom has adopted based on supporti ng peace and stability and enhancing cooperation. Its foreign policy is also characterized by balance and rationality, and has appreciated roles and efforts in supporting joint Arab action. Source: National Iraqi News Agency
