Doha: Qatar's high jumper Mutaz Barshim reached out to Qataris and residents to closely watch the 13th Ooredoo Doha Marathon due in January 2025.
The 2020 Tokyo Olympics gold medalist told Qatar News Agency that the event would help establish a healthier lifestyle in Qatar.
A total of 15,000 participants will compete across various race categories.
It will also help identify new talented runners to represent Qatar in international tournaments, added the world champion who secured two silver medals in 2012 and 2016 Olympics respectively.
Barshim, who also claimed bronze in the Paris Olympics 2024, hailed the event which will feature the world's elite runners as the best community sports event in Qatar.
