Biden congratulates Iraq on its National Day and affirms work to support its democratic path

US President Joe Biden congratulated the government and people of Iraq on the occasion of Iraqi National Day.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement: “Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fouad Hussein, received the Ambassador of the United States of America to Iraq, Alena Romanowski, and delivered to him a message from President Biden addressed to the President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, containing congratulations to the government and people of Iraq on the occasion of the 91st anniversary for the independence of Iraq, stressing that we will work together to support the democratic process in Iraq and strengthen institutions to support the Iraqi people and their diversity.

In his message, Biden stressed the necessity of achieving security in the world by continuing to defeat the ISIS terrorist, expressing his aspiration to participate in common priorities and strengthen the partnership between Baghdad and Washington, wishing a happy national day for the people and government of Iraq.
