BOC begins implementing preemptive operations in areas surrounding the capital

Baghdad Operations Command has begun carrying out preemptive operations within the areas surrounding the capital. The command stated in a statement that in implementation of the plan drawn up to enhance security and stability in the areas surrounding the capital, Baghdad, and coinciding with the approaching visit of Imam Hassan al-Askari (peace be upon him) on the anniversary of his martyrdom, the units of the Infantry Divisions (6th and 17th) and the units attached to them, with intelligence support, began preemptive operations to search and inspect the villages, countryside and orchards of the districts (Tarmia and Mahmoudia) and the areas adjacent to the roads used by visitors heading on foot or by vehicles to the holy shrines in the city of Samarra.
