Building Permit Issuance in Qatar Rises by 83% in September

The monthly data of building permit statistics, issued by all state municipalities, recorded a general rise during last September, estimated at 83%, compared to last August, and the increase was noticed in all municipalities as follows: Al Shamal (100%), Al Rayyan (99%), Doha and Al Wakra (81%) for each, Al Daayen (78%), Al Shahaniya (57%) and Umm Salal (47%).

This came in the 57th publication of monthly data on building permit and building completion statistics, issued by all state municipalities and published by the Planning and Statistics Authority (PSA). Such data is of special importance as they service as a relative index to the performance of the building and construction sector, which, in turn, has special importance in the national economy.

Announcing such monthly data comes within the coordination made between PSA and the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) to benefit from the e-link existing between the two entities. It also aims at giving a brief overview on the nature of such monthly permits and certificates, in terms of their geographical distribution (according to the municipalities, the type of such permits and certificates, in addition to more detailed classifications to the types of buildings, whether residential or non-residential.
