Cabinet Nod to MOTC’s Resolution on Protection Privacy of Personal Data

The Cabinet at its weekly meeting chaired by Prime Minister HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, at the Amiri Diwan yesterday, approved a draft resolution of the Minister of Transport and Communications (MOTC), regarding the rules and regulations to protect the privacy of personal data of individuals.

MOTC has prepared the draft resolution within the framework of issuing the necessary decisions to implement the provisions of Law No (13) of 2016 on the protection of the privacy of personal data.

Furthermore, the Cabinet also approved a draft resolution to establish the National Commission for Qualifications and Academic Accreditation, under the provisions of the draft resolution, a commission called the National Commission for Qualifications and Academic Accreditation has to be established at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.

Within the framework of the general policy of the State, the Commission aims to manage the national qualifications framework, make academic accreditation, apply quality assurance standards to the institutions of higher education in the State and contribute to its development in order to enhance confidence.
