HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, chaired the regular meeting held yesterday by the Cabinet at its headquarters in the Amiri Diwan.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Cabinet praised the speech of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani – may God preserve him – during the opening session of the Qatar Economic Forum, in collaboration with Bloomberg, which began last Monday via videoconferencing under the honorable patronage of HH the Amir. A number of leaders of states, heads of governments and global elite made up of above 2000 people, including chief executives, inspiring personalities and decision makers in the areas of funding, economy, investment, technology, energy, education, sports and climate attended the Forum.
The Cabinet also emphasized that the speech of HH the Amir, with its significant implications and clear-sighted visions, explained to the world during the Forum the axis of the successful strategy of the State of Qatar for confronting the serious repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic and requirements for the transition to the post-pandemic phase worldwide. Moreover, the speech delivered by HH the Amir has also outlined the features of the balanced economic strategy adopted by Qatar during the upcoming phase, as the Cabinet said.
After that, the Cabinet considered the topics on the agenda as follows:
First: Taking the necessary measures to issue a draft law on the protection of trademarks, copyrights and the related rights of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA). That happened after the Cabinet had reviewed the recommendation of the Shura Council on the draft law.
Second: Approving the draft decision of the Minister of Education and Higher Education to amend some provisions of Resolution No. 40 of 2017 in the executive regulations of Law No. 23 of 2015 regulating private schools.
