Central Criminal: Severe imprisonment for three years for a Brigadier General and Commissioner in the Energy Police

The Central Criminal Court at the Presidency of the Baghdad Court of Appeal, Al-Rusafa, issued a three-year hard prison sentence against a regimental commander with the rank of brigadier General and Commissioner working in the Energy Police for bargaining and extorting oil tanker owners in the Nahrawan region.

A statement by the media center of the Supreme Judicial Council stated that "they were arrested by the security forces when they received a bribe amounting to one million dinars from the complainant in exchange for the passage of tanks that transport oil waste belonging to a private company."

He added, "The court issued its decision in accordance with Resolution 160 / second / 1 of 1983, and as evidence of the provisions of Article 132/3 of the Penal Code."
