Riyadh: Qatar's Nasser Al-Attiyah on Tuesday won Stage 9 of the 2025 Dakar Rally, as Saudi Arabia's Yazid Al Rajhi took the lead in the drivers' standings. Five-time champion Al-Attiyah covered the 357km special between Riyadh and Haradh in 2hr 52min 59sec, to keep in touch with a sixth Dakar title. The Qatari finished 2min 47sec ahead of Belgian Guillaume de Mevius' Mini and 3min 12sec ahead of Al-Rajhi's Overdrive.
According to Qatar News Agency, in the overall standings, Saudi Arabia's Yazeed Al Rajhi now leads Dakar 2025 in the cars category with a time of 45:06:24. On the bikes, Argentine Luciano Benavides (KTM) claimed his second straight stage win as Australian Daniel Sanders finished third to hold the overall category lead. KTM's Benavides finished 1min 54sec ahead of French driver Adrien Van Beveren (Honda) after the 357m special. Sanders crossed in third 3min 4sec off the pace to extend his lead on second-placed Spaniard Tosha Schareina (Honda) to 14min 45sec.
