Doha to Host Third Edition of Global Half Marathon

Doha: The Qatar Sports for All Federation, part of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, is set to organize the third edition of the global half marathon, "ONE RUN FOR ALL," on May 24 at the Lusail International Circuit. The event will see the participation of more than 2,500 runners of all ages and categories, including men, women, children, and senior citizens.

According to Qatar News Agency, Executive Director of the Qatar Sports for All Federation, Abdullah Al Dosari, announced details of the race during a news conference. He highlighted that Doha is gearing up to host one of the world's largest half-marathon events, which will be conducted simultaneously in over 110 countries. The global event will witness participation from more than 200,000 runners worldwide, including 160,000 from Russia and 40,000 from countries such as Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, China, Brazil, Serbia, Cameroon, and Armenia.

Al Dosari outlined that the competition will feature six race categories, introducing a 400-meter race for children and a 2.5-kilometer course to encourage family participation. Other races include 1-kilometer, 5-kilometer, 10-kilometer, and 21.1-kilometer runs.

He also mentioned that the event aims to provide an enjoyable experience for running enthusiasts, with entertainment activities beginning at 4:30 p.m. in the fan zone. The races are scheduled to commence at 9 p.m. and will conclude by 10 p.m. Al Dosari expressed that the race day is expected to be a memorable occasion for participants, their families, and friends, similar to previous editions.
