Egyptian, Turkish Foreign Ministers Discuss Gaza Situation

Cairo: Egypt’s Foreign Minister, Badr Abdelatty, and his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan, discussed Saturday via phone the latest developments in Gaza.

According to Qatar News Agency, the two ministers addressed efforts to return to a ceasefire agreement and ensure the implementation of its three phases. This includes the release of hostages and prisoners, allowing humanitarian, medical, and relief aid into Gaza. The discussion took place against the backdrop of escalating tensions, with Israel’s military actions in Gaza and the West Bank hindering the delivery of humanitarian aid.

During the call, the ministers also exchanged views on the developments in Sudan and efforts aimed at supporting the country. Egypt’s foreign minister reiterated his country’s commitment to supporting Sudan’s national institutions in their efforts to restore stability and peace. He emphasized Egypt’s stance on respecting Sudan’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity.

The conversation further included discussions on the situation in the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea. The ministers explored ways to achieve security and stability in Somalia while preserving its territorial integrity.
