The death toll from widespread floods and landslides caused by a tropical storm that hit northwestern Philippines yesterday, Thursday, has risen to 76 people. In a statement, the Office of Civil Defense of the Philippines reported that the deaths and injuries occurred due to landslides, floods, and other storm-related incidents, mostly in the Bicol region in central Philippines, which experienced heavy rainfall. Meanwhile, the Philippines government announced that nearly 240,000 people are taking shelter in evacuation centers, and 7,510 travelers are stranded at ports, with 36 flights canceled today.
