Foreign Minister, Israeli counterpart inaugurate new premises of Israeli Embassy in Bahrain

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel, Eli Cohen, opened today the new headquarters of the Embassy of the State of Israel in the Kingdom.

The national anthems of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of Israel were played. The two Ministers cut the opening ribbon and unveiled the commemorative plaque. They then toured the embassy and its facilities.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel delivered a speech in which he expressed his pleasure to visit the Kingdom of Bahrain for the first time, stressing that the opening of the Embassy of the State of Israel in the Kingdom of Bahrain today reflects the interest of the two countries in pushing their bilateral relations towards wider horizons three years after the signing of the Abraham Accords, which has contributed to bringing the Middle East to a new phase of prosperity, peace and stability. He noted that the embassy is an opportunity to continue to promote the common goals of the two countries, which include diversity, cooperation, tolerance and stability.

The Israeli Foreign Minister expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation for the tireless efforts made by the Ambassador of the State of Israel to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Eitan Na'eh, in preparing for the opening of the embassy today, stressing the importance of continuing to work to promote relations between the two sides in security, trade, cultural and other fields, for the benefit of the two countries.

Foreign Minister Dr. Al-Zayani expressed his pleasure to participate in the official opening ceremony of the new headquarters of the Embassy of the State of Israel in the Kingdom of Bahrain, in the presence of Minister Cohen, noting that it is an important event representing the joint commitment to promote and develop bilateral relations that serve common interests and contribute to peace, security and prosperity for the benefit of the people of the region.

The Foreign Minister stressed that the Kingdom of Bahrain has been and remains a beacon of tolerance, and the promotion of human coexistence and mutual respect, adding that it firmly believes in the power of dialogue and understanding to pave the way towards a brighter future.

He indicated that the visit of Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen inaugurates a milestone in the growing relationship between the two countries and their common determination to promote harmony and cooperation.

Dr. Al-Zayani stressed the importance of deepening diplomatic efforts and developing bilateral cooperation across different sectors, noting that the establishment of this new embassy plays a pivotal role in the joint cooperation efforts to achieve the goals set out in the Declaration of Peace, the Abraham Accords and the Negev Forum and to work tirelessly to improve our mutual interests.

The opening ceremony was attended by Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Consular and Administrative Affairs, Dr. Mohammad Ali Bahzad, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the State of Israel, Khalid Yousef Al-Jalahma, Ambassador of the State of Israel to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Eitan Na'eh, in addition to a number of Ambassadors accredited to the Kingdom of Bahrain, senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the accompanying delegation of the Minister
