Health Minister Dr. Hasan Ghabbash discussed on Wednesday with Yasumasa Kimura, the resident representative of the United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef) in Syria and the accompanying delegation means of enhancing cooperation in the health sector and supporting the needs of the children, including vaccinations and nutrition programs.
During the meeting, Dr. Ghabbash stressed the importance of cooperation with the Unicef, hailing its support provided to the health sector in facing the challenges imposed by the terrorist war on Syria, the spread of Corona virus and the disaster of the earthquake.
The Health Minister also underlined the importance of coordination with the UN organization regarding the priorities of the health sector in the next stage, the necessity of intensifying efforts in this regard in light of the unjust siege imposed on the Syrian people.
He pointed out to his ministry’s keenness on providing the health services in different areas, particularly the vaccination programs.
For his part, Kimura appreciated the efforts exerted by the Syrian government in supporting and facilitating the work of the organization and carrying out its programs.
He expressed the organizations commitment to the early recovery program in Syria in various domains, including the health one, voicing readiness to provide support and cooperation for developing the health services.
