Manama, Shaikha Hessa bint Khalid Al Khalifa, Member of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Olympic and Chairperson of the Equal Opportunities Committee, expressed her pride in the outstanding representation of women's sport in Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Eight out of 14 athletes representing the Kingdom in the Olympics are women. It is the first time there is equal representation of both genders in the number of participants from Bahrain. Shaikha Hessa bint Khalid Al Khalifa said that this representation is a result of the efforts exerted by the Olympic Committee, headed by His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to support women's sport at all levels. She added that those efforts have led to significant achievements, mainly winning four Olympic medals, including two golds and two silvers, all of which were achieved by women. She praised the support and follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Olympic Committee and head of the delegation. Shaikha Hessa remark ed, "I am honored and proud of Team Bahrain's athletes who have qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympics. This moment is the culmination of years of effort, training and dedication. I am confident that you will give your best at this global sporting event." She noted that the Paris Olympics is not only an opportunity to compete in sports but also a platform to represent Bahrain in the best possible way.
