Iraq and Saudi Arabia discuss strengthening bilateral relations in the economic and investment fields

Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Riyadh Region, received the Iraqi Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Safiya Talib Al-Suhail, and the Chairman of the Iraqi-Saudi Friendship and Brotherhood Committee in the House of Representatives, Shalan Al-Karim, who is visiting Riyadh at the head of a delegation from the committee, in the presence of Ibrahim Al-Qannas, Chairman of the Saudi-Iraqi Friendship Committee in the Saudi Shura Council. A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated: 'Ambassador Al-Suhail praised the development witnessed by bilateral relations thanks to the directives of the senior leadership in the two countries. She pointed to the Kingdom's trends towards openness to Iraq and increasing investment. She also praised the Kingdom's economic renaissance.' For his part, Sheikh Shaalan Al-Karim expressed his thanks and appreciation for the reception the committee received during its visit at the invitation of the counterpart committee in the Saudi Shura Counci l. He reviewed the meetings held by the committee delegation during that visit, and pointed to the remarkable development witnessed in relations between the two countries, and the efforts made by the Friendship Committee to support and strengthen bilateral relations, especially since the Kingdom is a neighboring and brotherly country. For his part, the Emir of the Riyadh Region praised the development of relations between the two countries, and the efforts of Ambassador Safiya Al-Suhail, who achieved remarkable results in strengthening bilateral relations and coordination between the two sides since she assumed her duties in Riyadh about a year ago. He wished the Iraqi-Saudi Friendship and Brotherhood Committee and its counterpart in the Saudi Shura Council success in their work, and that their work would result in clear mechanisms and frameworks to achieve tangible results on the ground, and that any obstacles hindering joint work would be overcome with determination and resolve, and that visits between th e two countries would continue at all levels to contribute to Achieving the results we all aspire to.
