Baghdad: Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein discussed Thursday by phone with his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdel Aati, the latest developments in the Palestinian issue and Iraq’s preparations to host the upcoming Arab Summit.
According to Qatar News Agency, an Iraqi Foreign Ministry statement said the two sides deliberated possible ways and mechanisms to address statements related to the displacement of Palestinians, with Hussein stressing his country’s firm position in rejecting any plans to displace Palestinians and highlighting the importance of unifying the Palestinian ranks to confront current challenges.
The call also touched on the upcoming Arab Summit scheduled to be held in Baghdad, with the two ministers underscoring the importance of this summit as a platform for addressing the basic Arab issues, primarily the Palestinian and regional issues.
