Gaza City: Six Palestinians were martyred and others were wounded Saturday in an Israeli drone attack that targeted a group of civilians in the Qizan Rashwan area, south of Khan Younis, Palestine’s News Agency (WAFA) reported.
According to Qatar News Agency, WAFA added that the Israeli occupation’s artillery shelled Wadi Al Arais Street in the Al Zaytoun neighborhood, south of Gaza City, resulting in the injury of several civilians.
Since the onset of the Israeli assault on Oct. 7, 2023, the death toll of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip has climbed to 50,669, mostly women and children.
On March 18, Israeli occupation forces resumed their onslaught on the Gaza Strip, following a two-month respite under a ceasefire deal that came into effect on Jan. 19. However, Israel violated the ceasefire terms over the course of two months, continuing its bombardment of multiple sites in the Gaza Strip, resulting in casualties.
Israel also refused to implement the humanitarian protocol and further intensified its tight siege on the Strip, which is experiencing an unprecedented humanitarian crisis.
