Doha: Lens continued their pursuit of leaders Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue 1 and secured qualification for next season's UEFA Champions League after a crucial 1-0 victory over guests Nantes, who were officially relegated to the second division. The match was played this evening in the opening fixture of the 33rd round of the competition.

According to Qatar News Agency, Lens owed their victory to 16-year-old substitute Mezian Soares, who scored the only goal of the match in the 79th minute. The win means Lens now has 67 points and is guaranteed Champions League football next season. They are also three points behind PSG, who will face Stade Brestois 29 on Sunday.
