Mares and Stallions in spotlight on the penultimate day of Katara International Arabian Horse Festival (Title Show)

The Katara International Arabian Horse Festival (Title Show) continued on the third day with more than 60 top quality horses at the Katara Beach on Friday, February 5, 2021.

In Class 8B for Mares 7-10YO, H.E. Sheikh Jassim Bin Khalifa Al Thani’s NOFT ALNAYFAT amassed a whopping 94.17 points to comfortably bag a berth in Saturday’s Championship round. H.E. Sheikh Al Qaqa Bin Hamad Al Thani’s BAVIERA HVP was adjudged runner up in the class ahead of AIJANA, owned by Al Shaqab – Member of QF. Both the contenders were locked in at 92.67 points, and couldn’t be differentiated between on type too. Baviera HVP’s better numbers on movement sent her up into second place, and Aijana was third.

H.E. Sheikh Jassim had another winner on Friday with SUNDOWN KA topping Class 11 for Stallions 7-10YO with a whopping 94 points. FALAH AL SHAQAB (92.17), owned by Al Shaqab — Member of Qatar Foundation, was second, while Al Shahaniya Stud’s EKS MANSOUR was third with 91.92 points.

GALERIDA, owned by Al Dana Al Meslemani – Al Thumama Stud, won the first of the classes on Friday, collecting 92.75 points from the judges in the Class 8A for Mares 7-10YO. In second place was Al Asayel Stud’s FATTAM AL NASSER with 92.42 points and Kaheel Stud’s MOUNIRAJ with 91.75 points.

RIHAB AL NASSER of Al Nasser Stud – Sheikh Nawaf Bin Nasser Al Thani punched her ticket for the championship round collecting 93.17 points in Class 9 for Mares 11+YO. After winning bronze in the 23rd Qatar National Arabian Horse Show in January 2021, Al Shahaniya Stud’s PIACENZA has another opportunity to win the mares title, after finishing second in the class. Nasser Mohammed Al Hajri’s WASA will vie for the medals too taking a narrow third place on type, having tied on points at 92.17 with Al Sraiya Stud’s Lamana.

Fadi Al Shaqab, owned by Al Shaqab – Member of QF, topped the final class of the competition, Class 12 for Stallions 11+YO after earning 91.75 points. Nasser Mohammed Al Hajri’s AL MILAN (90.83) and Al Reeh Stud’s OM EL SANADEED (90.50) too made it to the championship round.
