Meteorology Department Warns of Strong Winds Impacting Offshore and Inshore Conditions

Doha: Weather inshore until 6:00 am on Saturday will be fine with moderate temperature, the Department of Meteorology said in its daily weather report, warning of strong winds at places at first. Offshore, it will also be fine, the report added, warning of strong wind and high sea.

According to Qatar News Agency, inshore winds will be northwesterly at a speed of 05 to 15 knots, reaching up to 22 knots at specific locations initially. Offshore, the winds are expected to be stronger, with a northwesterly direction at speeds from 15 to 25 knots, and gusts reaching 33 knots at times.

The sea state is anticipated to be moderately challenging, with inshore conditions seeing waves between 3 to 5 feet. Offshore, the waves will be more significant, ranging from 4 to 8 feet, and potentially rising to 11 feet during certain periods.

Visibility inshore is predicted to be between 04 to 09/03 kilometers or less at some places initially, while offshore visibility will range from 05 to 09 kilometers. These conditions suggest that caution should be exercised by those planning activities at sea or within coastal areas.
