Ministry of Labour, Qatar Career Development Centre Sign Working Document to Enhance Cooperation in Qualifying National Cadres

Doha: The Ministry of Labour (MoL) and Qatar Career Development Centre (QCDC), founded by the Qatar Foundation (QF), signed a working document on Sunday to frame cooperation between the two entities in the fields of training, employment, and vocational rehabilitation for people with disabilities. The Document was signed by Assistant Undersecretary for National Manpower Affairs at the Ministry of Labour Shaikha Abdulrahman Al Badi, and Executive Director of QCDC Abdulla Ahmed Al Mansoori. The documents outlines the frameworks of cooperation between QCDC and the Ministry of Labour in coordinating their efforts to train Qatari nationals with disabilities and provide them with vocational rehabilitation to reach the employment stage by enrolling them in vocational training programs and integrating them into official state programs and events in accordance with their abilities and professional needs. Emphasizing the importance of the Centre's long-term relationship with the Ministry, Executive Director of QCDC A bdulla Ahmed Al Mansoori said: "I am delighted to see our partnership with the Ministry of Labour reach a new horizon with the signing of this important document that frames our shared commitment to enhancing the skills and opportunities of people with disabilities in Qatar. I personally believe that this step and the long legacy of collaboration between our two organizations are the best ways for us to continue contributing to the prosperity of our society and the sustainable development of our nation." The program provided holistic professional development services to 14 participants with disabilities in different work environments to enhance their ability to understand and integrate different abilities in the labour market and trained participants with disabilities on basic transferable employability skills through a series of workshops, interactive educational activities, and career guidance and counselling sessions held by the centre over three weeks, culminating in the participants' contribution in orga nizing the state's Sports Day events in 10 different locations. This cooperation between QCDC and the Ministry of Labour is part of a long-term strategic relationship that aims to promote inclusiveness in training and work, qualify national cadres, increase their readiness, and enhance their ability to keep pace with the rapid changes in the world of work.
