The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE) has defined the minimum age for the admission of students as well as the procedures and terms of their early registration in kindergarten and foundation grades for the academic year 2018-2019.
Qatari students, children of GCC nationals and children of Qatari women will be registered as follows: those born until 31/12/2014 will be admitted in kindergarten, those born until 31/12/2013 will be admitted in the foundation grades, while those born until 31/12/2012 will be admitted in first primary grade, yet until 30/9/2012 for the other nationalities.
This was announced during a briefing session, held yesterday by the ministry for the registration officials at the public schools with their different grades, on the start of the registration and admission of students for the new academic year, upon the targeted categories and the timeline for registration in each grade.
New students will be registered in all grades upon the geographical scope of the school, the vacant places, which also applies to the student transfer process between schools.
