The semi-official Al-Sabah newspaper affiliated with the Iraqi Media Network said that Prime Minister Mohammed Shiaa al-Sudani, during his meeting of the head of the Iraqi Media Network, Karim Hammadi, renewed the government's support for the network's work and its tasks in enhancing professionalism in the Iraqi media environment. The newspaper added that Al-Sudani listened, during the meeting, to a briefing on the reality of the network's work, the most important challenges facing national media work, and the paths in which the network's channels and windows play their role in providing an objective and fair media service to the Iraqi citizen, and reflecting the true picture of the overall performance of various fields . The newspaper continued that the Prime Minister, according to the statement, stressed 'the government's support for the work of the Iraqi Media Network and its tasks in enhancing professionalism in the Iraqi media environment, according to the democratic and constitutional path, and supporting all media efforts to provide information and preserve Iraqi moral and social values and constants, pointing out 'providing support to the Iraqi Media Network to host the fourth session of the Arab Media Conference, scheduled to be held in the capital Baghdad next April, under the auspices of the Arab States Broadcasting Union affiliated with the League of Arab States.' In another topic, Al-Zaman newspaper/Iraq edition/ said that the new Kirkuk governor, Ribwar Taha, pledged to start a new phase in the province that focuses on enhancing peace, harmony, coexistence and reconstruction. The newspaper pointed out that Taha, a leader in the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, confirmed in a statement that 'the priorities will include enhancing security, improving serv ices, and rehabilitating infrastructure, with attention to all sectors and activating the rich resources that Kirkuk enjoys in order to improve the lives of citizens,' noting that 'out position will be a tool for achieving political and social peace and enhancing coexistence among all components of Kirkuk,' adding that 'I will be a governor for the Kurds, Arabs, Turkmen, Christians, and all segments of society.' Meanwhile, the newspaper continued, the head of the Turkmen Front, Hassan Turan, considered the session to elect the governor and the head of the Kirkuk Provincial Council, which was held in Baghdad, to be a violation of the law. The newspaper explained, for his part, that the head of the Arab Alliance bloc in the council, Rakan Saeed Al-Jubouri, said in a statement yesterday that (the Arab Alliance and the Turkmen were excluded from forming the local government), and continued (whoever participated in the election of the governor and the head of the council, gave the rights of the Arabs and the component in vain, stressing that (what happened by some Arab representatives is the deprivation of the entitlement of this component in a session outside the governorate, as this was done by one bloc, and no official request was submitted through the president, and on a holiday and outside the governorate, and this is contrary to the text of Article 13 and the minutes of the first session that the session should be open), and he stressed that (the announcement of the formation of the local administration excluded the Tu rkmen, and two hours before participating in the election of the administration, the six Arab representatives issued a position that they would not participate in the election session), considering that (what happened was treason), reiterating his confirmation of (adherence to rights and resorting to the judiciary because what happened was illegal and outside the context). In a second topic, Al-Zawraa newspaper, affiliated with the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate, said that the member of the Parliamentary Legal Committee, MP Muhammad Al-Khafaji, revealed the details of the third amendment proposal for the unified retirement law, and while he indicated that the amendment includes three essential points, he expected it to be included during one of the upcoming parliament sessions.
