A Gulf Air plane carrying a new batch of evacuated citizens and residents from Sudan, landed at the Bahrain International Airport today.
Ambassador Dr. Mohammad Ali Bahzad, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Consular and Administrative Affairs, affirmed that the evacuation came as an implementation of the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to evacuate the citizens and residents of the Kingdom from Sudan, due to the current critical security situation there
Bahrain has been making every effort to secure the safe return of all its citizens and residents since the beginning of the current situation, unveiling that as many as 252 citizens and residents have been evacuated from Sudan so far.
Bahzad praised the continuous follow-up of Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, to the evacuation process.
He stressed the cohesive effort put forward by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Health, Bahrain Airport Company and other government entities to finish the evacuation process.
The ambassador appreciated the role played by Saudi Arabia and UAE to ensure the success of the evacuation process.
