Damascus: The new Syrian administration has emphasized its commitment to rebuilding relations with Russia by ensuring that Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity are respected, aiming to serve the interests of the Syrian people.
According to Qatar News Agency, the declaration came through a statement issued on Wednesday by the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA). This followed a meeting between Ahmed Al Sharaa, the leader of the new Syrian administration, and a Russian delegation headed by Mikhail Bogdanov, Russia’s Special Envoy for the Middle East.
The discussions at the meeting centered on respecting Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. The statement highlighted the importance of addressing past mistakes in the restoration of relations, aligning with the will and interests of the Syrian people. Mikhail Bogdanov described the meeting as constructive, expressing Russia’s commitment to maintaining friendly and cooperative relations with Syria.
