Dr. Al Dairi highlighted NIHR's keenness to d evelop recommendations that align with the national system in protecting children's rights by relevant international standards. She emphasised the Kingdom's efforts in implementing various preventive measures, considering the children's best interest, through the issuance of the Child Law of 2012 and the Law on Restorative Justice for Children and Their Protection from Maltreatment in 2021, including the establishment of the Family and Child Protection Office and the Child Protection Centre. She noted that these efforts come from Bahrain's obligations to implement the stipulations on the Rights of the Child of 1991 and the two Optional Protocols attached to it, joined by the Kingdom in 2004.
