Pakistan Army Says 22 Militants Killed in Northwest Operation

Pakistan: Pakistan's military announced on Friday that 22 militants were killed in an intelligence-based operation in the northwestern Khyber District.

According to Qatar News Agency, the army's statement detailed that the joint operation, conducted with law enforcement agencies, specifically targeted militant elements in the region. The operation aimed to address ongoing security threats in the area.

During the clashes, militants fired indiscriminately, resulting in the tragic death of a 10-year-old child. The military's statement highlighted the gravity of the situation and the challenges faced by security forces in maintaining peace in the region.

Security forces reported the seizure of weapons and ammunition from the militants, who were identified as being involved in several armed activities. This operation is part of broader efforts to curb militant activities in the Khyber District.

Authorities confirmed that search and clearance operations were ongoing, emphasizing the continued commitment to eliminating potential security threats. The Khyber District, located in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, shares a border with Afghanistan, which has historically been a volatile region.
