Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shiaa Al Sudani, met, in Baghdad on Sunday, with Lebanon's caretaker Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, to discuss the latest developments in the regional arena, the repercussions of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, and the situation in South Lebanon. In a statement, the office of the Iraqi Prime Minister reported that Al Sudani discussed with Mikati bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to strengthen them, in addition to reinforcing economic partnership and bilateral agreement on exporting Iraqi oil to Lebanon. Al Sudani stressed the importance of ceasing the Israeli aggression on Lebanon and the Gaza Strip and preventing the escalation of regional conflict and the further loss of innocent lives and martyrs. Meanwhile, Mikati commended Iraqi efforts in supporting regional and international convergence and stability, confirming his government's efforts to enhance security cooperation and coordination with Iraq in the counter-terrorism field.
