Doha, (QNA) - Qatar's beach volleyball team of Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan current No.2 in the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) world ranking, will play in Group A of the final round of the Beach Pro Tour for men and women, which will be held at the Aspire Zone beach courts from Jan. 26 to 29, according to the draw carried out today.

The tournament is organized under the auspices of the FIVB in collaboration with the Qatar Volleyball Association (QVA) and Aspire Zone Foundation which will host the tournament for three consecutive years starting January 2023.

The President of the QVA and the West Asian Volleyball Association (WAVA), Ali Ghanem Al Kuwari confirmed in earlier statement that the Aspire Zone Foundation is hosting this tour within the framework of the great cooperation between the Foundation and the Qatar Volleyball Association in organizing a number of previous international tournaments, noting that after the World Beach Pro Tour, Qatar will host for the first time in Aspire Zone the opening round of the 5-star rated Elite16 tours. Furthermore, Qatar was given the opportunity to organize this sporting event, as a result of the International Federations recognition of the advanced level of playing and ranking the game has reached in the country, be it in beach volleyball or indoor volleyball.

Al Kuwari added that it will be the final round of all beach volleyball tournaments where the top 8 teams in the world rankings will participate along with two invitation cards which will be granted to two teams to participate in the tournament for men and women with financial prizes reaching USD 800,000.

The Qatari team will open its matches in the tournament on its first day facing Chile's star men's beach volleyball team of Esteban Grimalt and Marco Grimalt.
