Qatar Engages in Key GCC Finance Undersecretaries Meeting

Doha: The State of Qatar actively participated in the 75th meeting of the Ministries of Finance's Undersecretaries Committee of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states. Representing Qatar was Deputy Undersecretary for Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Finance, Dr. Saud bin Abdullah Al Attiyah.

According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting, conducted via video conference, covered several topics. These included the outcomes of the 86th meeting of the Committee of Governors of Central Banks of the GCC, results from the meetings of the GCC Customs Union Authority, and outcomes from the Committee of Heads and Directors of Tax Departments of the GCC. The participants underscored the importance of ongoing coordination to strengthen economic and developmental integration among member states.

The meeting further reviewed the General Secretariat's report on measures taken under current circumstances, the progress report on free trade agreement negotiations between the GCC and other countries and international blocs, and the program aimed at achieving economic unity among GCC states. Additionally, they discussed several issues of shared interest to the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
