Doha: The Ability Friendly Program, an initiative under Qatar Foundation's Pre-University Education, celebrated athletes of various abilities, promoting inclusive sports during its annual Ability Friendly Program Recognition Awards ceremony held at Multaqa (Education City Student Center).
According to Qatar News Agency, the event honored 245 athletes who have participated since the program's inception, underscoring its dedication to fostering inclusion, personal growth, and community building for children and youth of all abilities. The Qatar Foundation (QF) program has consistently provided participants with opportunities to build confidence, independence, and teamwork through sports and development activities, creating a robust support network that includes athletes, families, coaches, volunteers, and partners.
Abdallah Al Dosari, Executive Director of the Qatar Sports For All Federation, remarked on the significance of the ceremony as an annual initiative that celebrates the achievements and dedication of participants. He emphasized the ceremony's role in showcasing the positive impact of sports in building confidence, strengthening social connections, and enhancing quality of life. Al Dosari also noted the continued collaboration with QF, reflecting a shared commitment to providing inclusive sporting opportunities for all, particularly for people with disabilities.
Jassim Al Hail, Vice Chairman of the Referees Committee at the Qatar Football Association, expressed pride in QF's impactful role in serving the community and supporting future generations through meaningful sports initiatives. Nigel D'Souza, Events Officer at QF's Ability Friendly Program, described the ceremony as one of the most meaningful moments of the year, celebrating the achievements, growth, and dedication of every participant.
