Doha: Qatar International Islamic Bank (QIIB) has once again achieved the ISO 27001:2022 certification in cybersecurity, marking the second consecutive year of recognition for its robust information security management system. Last year, QIIB distinguished itself as one of the pioneering institutions in Qatar to acquire the certification under the updated standards. According to Qatar News Agency, ISO 27001 is a globally esteemed certification, granted to organizations that meet rigorous criteria in information security, ensuring high-level protection of customer data and digital security enhancement. QIIB's re-certification underscores its comprehensive approach to addressing cybersecurity risks, offering multi-layered protection and superior customer data security to counter emerging cyber threats. Mohammad Jamil Hamad, Head of the Risks Sector at QIIB, emphasized the bank's steadfast leadership in cybersecurity. "QIIB's continued leadership in cybersecurity and its unwavering commitment to maintaining th e highest standards protection for customer data and other banking operations are undoubtedly positive," he remarked. He further noted that the certification aligns with Qatar's efforts under Law No. (13) of 2016 to uphold personal data privacy. Hamad highlighted the importance of the bank's security standards in light of its significant strides in digital transformation. With most services now accessible through digital channels, these standards bolster operational efficiency and customer trust in QIIB's offerings.
