Seoul, The Seoul city government said Monday it will team up with the Hyundai Department Store to provide consulting services to foreigners residing in the city and offer various programs to help facilitate cultural exchanges with locals. The plan, the first of its kind, aims to create a "global life hub" at the Trade Center Branch of the Hyundai Department Store in November and offer counselling to foreign residents on topics ranging from housing to finances, transportation and immigration. The services will be available in eight languages. The city will sign a memorandum of understanding on the plan with the Hyundai Department Store Trade Center Branch and Migrant Center Friend, a nonprofit group supporting migrants, at 2:30 p.m. Professional consulting on legal, tax or labour sectors will be offered on specific days of the week, and seminars by various experts will be held monthly. The plan also includes hosting community events, Korean classes, and cultural programs for foreigners at the culture centr e on the 11th floor. The city expects more foreigners in the city would benefit from its core services and counselling currently available at the Seoul Foreign Resident Center at a more conveniently accessible location.
